Starting a Business in France

Any professional activity in France needs a legal structure, registered either as an individual or as a company.
 
The most common legal structures are:
 
-       Self employed / Entreprise Individuelle
-       Limited liability single shareholder corporation / EURL
-       Limited liability joint stock corporations / SARL, SA, SAS
-       Auto-entrepreneur
 
Registration of a new business needs to be made at the appropriate office:
           
-       Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie (CCI) for shopkeepers for example
-       Chambre de Métiers et de l’Artisan for craftman (« artisan »)
-       Greffe du Tribunal de Commerce for companies with a non commercial purpose
-       Chambre d’Agriculture for individuals or companies operating in agricultural activities
 
 
 

 
 

Opening a business account

To open a business bank account you will need to provide the following information:
 
-       Proof of identity (a valid passport or ID card)
-       Proof of a French address (a utility bill for example)
-       Company Registration number in France (SIRET, SIREN, NAF, extrait Kbis)
